PSN Ukraine taps you into film incentives in Ukraine as well as Georgia.
In support for the local film industry, Ukraine offers from 2018 an incentive to co-productions filmed in the country. To qualify, projects should pass a culture test and have a minimum total budget of 750,000 Euros for feature films, 560,000 Euros for TV drama series, 320,000 Euros for commercials and music videos, 190,000 Euros for tele-movies, and 120,000 Euros for documentaries. The available rebate is 10% for actor's fee and 16.6% of other Qualifying Expenses made in Ukraine. Note that in the case of commercials, 10% of the rebate must be reinvested to support Ukrainian debut films. Companies registered in Ukraine or foreign producers working under contract with a Ukrainian production company like PSN Ukraine may apply.
There are three sources in Ukraine that provide co-production funding, ranging from 20% to 50% of the overall budget if a script passes the cultural test:
- Film State Fund
- Ministry of Culture Fund
- Culture Development Fund
Georgia also offers an incentive to co-productions filmed in the country. Feature films, tele-movies, television drama series, and mini-series (including pilots) with a minimum total production budget of $250,000 USD may benefit. A minimum total production budget of $150,000 for documentaries, commercials, reality-shows, and music videos may also benefit. The available rebate is 20% of Qualifying Expenses. Up to an additional 5% rebate can be achieved for projects scoring well on a culture test. Local and foreign producers with a company registered in Georgia may apply.
Reach out and tell us more about your project so we can work together to take advantage of the incentives that best fit.
