A film incentive in Thailand is now providing a tax rebate of 15%. Hiring of key Thai crew can boost the rebate by 3%. Promotion of Thai tourism can add 2% for a maximum rebate of 20%.
Film projects must spend the equivalent of $1.4 million locally to qualify. A cap of about $2.17 million tax rebate per project applies.
The measure adopted in early 2017 has a specific application period and requires foreign filmmakers to work with a local company that is officially registered with the film and tourism offices.

Under the title 'Reach for the Sun' the Aditya Birla Group commissioned a TVC with the highest budget for an Indian commercial. They chose Matthias Zentner as the director, who best represented their vision.
This commercial was all about spectacular locations - an ancient tree, a reed-filled lake, an undulating field, a tropical waterfall, and an emerald bamboo forest. All these locations had to be close to each other because, incredibly, the TVC was shot in 2 days only. In the province of Kanchanaburi, west of Bangkok, we found everything we needed and much more. The tree, for example, was an ancient giant, 60 meters in diameter; and the waterfall an intricate affair with a multitude of different terraces over which clear, blue water spilled.
