Indian Ocean Elegance and Afro-Portuguese Texture
Mozambique is a filmmaker’s paradise for coastal and colonial narratives. Its singularity lies in the Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos, where shifting white sand dunes meet turquoise waters—a world-class double for the Maldives or Seychelles but with a distinct African soul. In the south, the capital, Maputo, offers a rare urban texture: a mix of Portuguese neoclassical architecture, Art Deco gems, and 1970s brutalist landmarks, often nicknamed the “Paris of Africa” for its wide, jacaranda-lined boulevards.
Mozambique has hosted blockbuster epics like Blood Diamond, but the local industry is boutique, and specialized equipment is limited. Our South Africa-based team provides the critical industrial spine for every shoot. We leverage the well-maintained toll road from South Africa to Maputo to truck in “A-list” technical packages and specialized crew. Since Mozambique is not a Carnet country, our team’s deep experience navigating the mandatory 1% budget-based permit and temporary import clearances is the formula for a secure, western-standard production in this evocative Indian Ocean gem.
